Yes KNOW THE TUGBOATS HISTORY: SANSON Discover the Sanson, the new 2023 edition of the well-known wooden model ship of this tugboat from the 1940s. Equipped with a powerful 2,000 CV steam boiler, the vessel could develop speeds of 14 knots while coming to the rescue of much larger vessels.

• In the middle of the 19th century, navigation underwent a great revolution, the main factor being the introduction of mechanical propulsion. As a consequence, ships gradually increase their size and displacement, losing in the process the ease of maneuvering in docks and ports. As a result of this, the tugboats were born, new types of small-tonnage vessels and shallow draft but with more than enough motive power and maneuverability to assist vessels much larger than themselves.

The assembly instructions have been greatly improved -which we will talk about later-, so the building experience is much more enjoyable and less difficult.

• In addition, its construction system using a false keel and frames brings the assembly of your model closer to the construction of the real ship. As three fantastic news, the elegant and faithful miniature replica of the Sanson tugboat in wood is suitable for use by radio control (R/C) in water. The boat's hull allows to be both, a static and R/C model because it has the hollowed frames and offers comfortable access to the interior. Add an engine to make it navigate!

• We have a Low RPM Motor (27591) so that the propeller moves only during the model's exhibition -it is not suitable for navigation-, for sale separately. The second surprise is that, for the same reason, the model is prepared to be illuminated with our LED Lighting Set (27590) -for sale separately-, both the boat and the base itself. And that is the third one, this edition comes with a wooden exhibition base with a name plate, not like the old one.

It is best to stick the ship to the stand as soon as possible (i.e. after painting) so that it has a good grip when you work around it.
